AXA Health Registered — London, Bromley & Online UK

AXA Addiction Therapy

I'm Richard Lee, a BACP Accredited addiction therapist registered with AXA Health. If you hold an AXA health insurance policy, your addiction therapy may be covered — making specialist, depth-focused treatment accessible when you need it.

AXA Health policies typically cover outpatient mental health treatment including addiction therapy. I use Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) — helping you address not just the addiction but the developmental trauma that often drives it.

In-person sessions in Fitzrovia (W1W) and Bromley (BR1), plus online therapy across the UK.

Using AXA Cover

How to Access Addiction Therapy Through AXA Health

1

Verify Your Mental Health Cover

Contact AXA Health or check your policy documents to confirm you have outpatient mental health cover. AXA policies typically cover 8–20 sessions per year for therapy, depending on your plan level.

2

Obtain an Authorisation Code

AXA requires pre-authorisation. Call their mental health team, explain what you're seeking help with, and they'll provide an authorisation code. Some policies also require a GP referral.

3

Share My Provider Details

AXA will need my name, BACP registration number, and practice details. I'll provide everything you need during our initial consultation.

4

Start Therapy

Once authorised, we begin. I invoice AXA directly so you don't need to handle claims paperwork — you focus on the work, not the admin.

AXA Health: What to Know

GP Referral Requirements

Many AXA policies require a GP referral to access outpatient mental health cover. Check your policy or call AXA to confirm. If needed, your GP can provide this — it's usually straightforward.

Session Limits and Reviews

AXA typically authorises an initial block of sessions and reviews progress before authorising further sessions. I provide brief clinical updates to support this process.

Confidentiality With AXA

Your session content is confidential. AXA receives only a treatment summary and session dates — the same as with any insurer. Your personal history is never shared.

Other Insurers

I'm also registered with Aviva, WPA, Allianz, and Healix. Self-pay is always available.
